The Ann Arbor Tri Club tries to offer as many workouts a week as possible for the benefits of club members.

**IMPORTANT** Please note, organized workouts hosted by the Club are restricted to Ann Arbor Triathlon Club Members ONLY for safety and liability reasons.

    Our Sunday Run is a great group workout.  We meet at Kerry Town, Ann Arbor ready to run at 9am.  Smaller groups run different speeds and different distances.  

    Come join in the fun!  Hang out for coffee at Sweetwaters after the run.

    On Tuesday Nights we workout with the Ann Arbor Track Club.  

    Outdoor Season

    Outdoor workouts will start April 4th 2017. We will meet on the UM Outdoor Track just off of State Street south of Hoover Avenue. Enter the gate north of Yost Arena and drive about 100 yards. The address is 1150 S. State Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

    Note that on June 20 and 27 and all of July, we will meet at the wooden bridge in Gallup Park (the one that cars can drive over). See schedule below.

    Participants warm up on their own starting at around 6:30 p.m. and the workout starts at 7:00 p.m. Workouts are scheduled for AATC members; non-members are welcome to take a test drive but should join the AATC if they enjoy the workouts and the club.

    Thursday Evening Bricks 

    Thursdays June Through August

    Brick workouts are a key component to every triathletes training schedule, and to no surprise the Thursday evening bricks are the staple workout of the club. We’ll meet every week, unless it’s raining, in which case, you can ride at your own risk. Here’s the info:

    When:  Thursday evenings at 6:10pm (See Below)
    Location: Forsythe School (See Maps Below)
    Distance: Bike route: 20 mile road, 12.7 mile dirt road option, & there are 3 run routes available.

    The Thursday Evening Brick workouts are structured to cater to varying abilities within the triathlon club. A phased start is used for the Brick workouts. This phased start is designed to allow the newer riders to have a head start, and ride at their own pace. The most experienced riders will be in Group 5. This also allows the group to finish the bike ride around the same time, so that folks can begin the run together. Here's how it works:

    • Group 1: Bike start at 6:10pm (<14 mph NO DROP)
    • Group 2: Bike start at 6:15PM (16 mph and under average pace)
    • Group 3: Bike start at 6:20PM (19 mph and under average pace)
    • Group 4: Bike start at 6:25PM (19 - 21 mph average pace)
    • Group 5: Bike start at 6:30PM (21 + mph average pace)

    Workout nutrition provided by Infinit Nutrtion.

    Muffins are available for a quick recovery snack provided by Afternoon Delight.

    Monday Open Water Swim at Silver Lake

    Bring a few bucks and drinks of your choice and hang out for pizza afterwards.

    Where: 9311 Anne St, Pinckney, MI 48169

    When: People gather at 6pm, swim starts at 6:30

    Parking: Members can park in the grass lawn behind the cottage.  

    Summary: All club members are welcome!  If you don't own one it is recommend that you purchase and bring a swim buoy.  The swims are good to practice and train for open water swims.  There is no lifeguard and all member will swim at their own ability and risk.  The lake is 1/2 mile across and we typically swim across and back.  Depending on the event, some members do multiple laps.  

    Social: After the swim members are welcome to gather on the deck for beverages (byob) and snacks.  Typically members pitch in for pizza or bring a snack.

    We have had as many as 30 swimmers on Monday night so you will have someone to swim with!

    We are hosting a casual training day.  This event is a nice way to practice all three disciplines.  Everyone coming can have different goals, it's your workout!  The idea is to provide a group workout to train swimming, biking, running and transitions.  

    Details:

    Spring Mill Pond - Turn right once in the park and follow the signs

    Set up - (7:30 AM)  We will have a transition rack available.  Set up as though it's race day. Michael Parker and Ralf Mielke will be there to provide tips and answer your questions. 

    Swim - ( 8 to 9)  Swim 20 mins or the entire hour.  Practice your T1 as many times as you like.  No Lifeguard.  Please bring your safe swimmer if you have one.  http://saferswimmer.com/

    Bike - (9 to 10) We cycle on the main 6 mile road within the park. Go back and forth until you are done.  Then practice your T2.  Note: Cars will be using the road. Please use caution.

    Run  - (10-11) We will use part of the blue trail to run an out and back route.  Michael and Ralf will provide direction. 

    Chill at 11 (Club will supply Infinit and snacks)

    ***This training day is a free event thanks to our Sponsor, Parker Performance and our friends at Island Lake Park and Recreation Area.  

    Island Lake is seeking donations towards a road debris blower to keep their 6 mile road clear for cyclists.  We will gladly collect funds Saturday to donate or you can click here: http://islandlakefriends.org/
